Wednesday 2-16-11 Graphics Activity

Today, I want you to practice working with textures a bit.  Textures are used frequently to add interesting detail to a photograph.

Get a picture from:

http://www.flickr.com/groups/unaltered_pictures/

Search google images for free textures, and save one that you like.

Open both the image from flickr and the texture image in photoshop.

Put the texture in a layer on top of the photograph.

Go to Image -> Adjustments -> Desaturate to make the texture black and white

right click on the texture layer properties and go to blending options.

Try setting the blending to soft light or overlay or multiply for different effects.

Upload your final product here when finished.
