Prompts for my Visual Design Class
For a week in my class, each day I posed questions on Edmodo. I didn’t give any direction in how the answers should be structured. The week went well, but it wasn’t very organized. I got a lot of very very short answers.
I’m going to add some structure to this, and call it prompts instead of just questions. Some of them will be writing prompts, some will be design prompts. I’m also going to set each day of the week as a certain subject.
- Monday: Technology (students will write 3-5 sentences based on a technology writing prompt.)
- Tuesday: Visual Design (I will choose an element of design, students will find an example, and write 3-5 sentences about it’s use.)
- Wednesday: Tools Practice (I will assign a simple task in Photoshop, Illustrator, or InDesign for students to complete, and turn in. Tasks will normally take about 5 minutes.)
- Thursday: News and Stuff (This will be more open ended, but will often be something that has happened in the news recently. Students will write 3-5 sentences about it.)
- Friday: Random (I will either ask a simple question like “What are you doing this weekend” or just have the students write about anything they want. Again, 3-5 sentences.)
